Welcome to my Web Site
Personal Profile:
Having had an interest in pottery for several years, and a self taught thrower, I felt that I had reached both an artistic and practical 'plateau', I therefore decided to embark on a ceramics degree course at The University of Wales Institute Cardiff, where I was successful in gaining a 2:1(hons). My thanks to all of the staff at the ceramics department, especially Pete Starkey, Geoff Swindell, Graham Wilkinson (Jock), Glyn Tilley, Duncan Ayscough, Delyth Donne and Claire Cunneen. I am a member of VOGA The Vale of Glamorgan Artists, and The South Wales Potters. With working experience gained with Maurice & Jackie Carey at Cannon Hill Pottery and having trained in the art of making large garden pots with the expert large pot thrower, John Huggins of the Ruardean Garden Pottery, I have also found a love of terracotta and the manufacture of garden ornamentation such as planters, pots, tiles, bird baths, feeders and fountains. While I continue to produce and develop bodies of work for galleries, I find that my work has developed into the sculptural, moving from the speedy and constraining form of the wheel.
